Thomas Chambers (New York, England, 1808-1869)

A Storm-tossed Frigate. c. 1840, Unsigned. Oil on panel, showing the vessel with crew on deck below one whole mast and two broken ones, in driving rain on high seas, 22 3/4 x 31 1/2 in., in a period black-painted and gilt-stenciled frame. Condition: Panel slightly warped, very minor retouch to edges.
