Bio via Adam's website: Theo McNab was born in Dublin in 1940. He does not have any formal artistic training, instead he us mostly self-taught. Despite this his paintings, abstract and minimalist landscapes, are highly accomplished studies, executed in muted tones. His works often from a grid structure, similar to fellow Irish artist Charles Tyrrell, that are focused on the interplay of light and perspective within in this system. They are both depictions of the organic landscape and the geometric forms found within it.

McNab first exhibited his work in 1971 in Dublin, and had a one-man show in 1973. His work was shown in Rosc 80. He has represented Ireland at the prestigious international painting festival Cagnes-sûr-Mer in 1975, and has participated in group shows in California, England, Italy, Germany, Japan and China. He won the Scott Tallon Walker Prize at the Oireachtas Exhibition in 1976. He was head of Fine Arts at NCAD from 1988-2000 and was elected to membership of Aosdána, the Irish Association of Artists, in 1981. His work is held in the collections of the Irish Museum of Modern Art, Dublin City Gallery The Hugh Lane, and the University of Limerick Art Collection.

Artworks will be delivered within a 7 day period after this date. 
You will be contacted with details of delivery by text message. 
If you are not home you will need to rearrange delivery directly with Expert Removals and Storage.

AUCTION DETAILS
Auction days are Friday 23rd, Saturday 24th, Sunday 25th and Monday 26th April.
Friday's session kicks off at 7.30pm Irish Standard Time (IST), Sat & Sun days start at 2.30pm and the final day (which was recently added due to popular demand) starts at 7:30pm.

Bidding is by online paddle only and all bidders must register with Invaluable beforehand. Register at www.invaluable.com (search SCOOP Foundation in search bar). 

All lots must be paid in full prior to delivery.

All buyers are subject to a 20% buyers premium, which helps the charity cover event, admin and delivery costs, as well as the charge for using the online bidding portal (5%).

The auctioneer and event managers are authorised to execute bids on behalf of absentee bidders.

All disputes will be settled at the Auctioneer's discretion.

PHONE BIDDING
All phone bidders must register their name, phone number and interested lot(s) / artist & artwork by noon on Thursday the 22nd of April 2021. Any communication received after this deadline is not guaranteed to be tended to.
