Description

with 16-bobbin rack for thread feed to the sprung steel feed bar, clamp housing of turned and tooled ivory having plain tensioner, feed bar cover and shaped end brackets above four turned columns, on the mahogany workbase with one long and one short flanking tambour slides holding bobbin rack and polished steel needle comb, concealed push-button to top panel pushing to reveal secret drawer to one end, opposing end with removable panel bearing turned ivory knob, with the bobbin rewinder attachment with polished brass plates, turned rosewood handle and even-distribution sweeping arm feed, mounted on case board slide held by twist-lock ivory grips, in fitted polished mahogany case with side entry, swing handle to top, with original key;
A fringe made of white and green-highlighted thread, loosely mounted on card bearing ink-written inscription Fringe made up by the Queen; together with further fringe sections of similar date;
Various notes and letters concerning the full provenance; 17in. (43cm) machine length, the width 6.1/2in. (16.5cm), the height 7in. (17.5cm), the case 18.1/2in. (47cm) long
