THE APPLETON FAMILY OF BOSTON: IMPORTANT PAIR OF WILLIAM IV SILVER SAUCE TUREENS AND COVERS, BENJAMIN SMITH II, LONDON, 1830-31. Each of bombe oval form, engraved with the Appleton family crest and coat-of-arms, gadrooned rim with shells at intervals, raised on shell and scroll feet headed by leaftips, reeded handles with leaf terminals, the lobed cover with matching shell and foliate handle, marked exterior side and beneath cover. 80 oz. Length 8 1/2 inches.
