Morning in Venice--Dogana (Custom House) and Church of the Santa Maria della Salute
Signed and dated "T. DeFrees 1886" l.l., identified in an inscription in the
artist's hand affixed to the reverse.
Oil on canvas, 22 x 36 in. (55.9 x 91.5 cm), framed.
Condition: Lined, craquelure, minor retouch.

The lining is adhered with glue or resin. There is an area of retouch (possibly the reason for lining?) about 3 inchesin diameter to the sky c.l. plus additional dots and dashes of retouch. There are subtle areas of possible skinning within the sky. Slight bulge one inch in diameter at center right of top edge.
