Taha Al-Sabban explores the tensions between development and tradition inherent in Saudi Arabia. Strong vertical and horizontal elements are superimposed onto his images of old cities, giving a sense of dynamic movement at odds with the traditional setting.
One of Saudi Arabias most prominent painters, works by Al-Sabban adorn can be found in the King Abdul Aziz International Airport in Jeddah, and Khaled International Airport in Riyadh and King Fahd International Airport in Dahran.
