Oil on Canvas Bornholm Landscape by Svend Christian Nielson (1908-1993). Signed by the artist lower right. Framed measures 20x24x2". Weight is 6 pds. PROVENANCE: The Estate of a Charleston SC Art Dealer / Gallery Owner. Svend Nielsen was trained as a sculptor but also painted. Nielsen settled in 1938 on the Danish Island of Bornholm, which served as his home base for the rest of his life. He studied and painted in Paris 1938-39, Norway 1949, Spain 1955, Holland 1959.
