Description

TWO CRACKLED-GLAZED VASES

Mid Qing Dynasty

The first of Guan type, with a gentle baluster profile with sloping shoulder and cylindrical neck, under and a transparent pale celadon glaze thinning to white at the rim with a wide dark crackle interspersed with a finer russet crackle;
together with a densely crackled dark apple-green glazed small pear-shaped vase with tall, everted neck. (2)


guan vase: 6 3/4in (17.1cm) high
dark green-glazed vase: 5 3/8in (13.7cm) high


Condition Report

Guan Vase: Generally, in good condition. Small glaze bruise with two nibbles to a line of crackle at the neck edge.


Apple-green vase: The neck rim has been cut down and very cleverly restored to match the interior brown-black neck glaze.
