While reminiscent of postwar action painting of Jackson Pollock and other abstract expressionists, the use of vibrant colour in Sung's painting is also suggestive of graffiti art within urban popular culture. The fusion of densely applied fluorescent acrylic paint creates a rich visual expression, quite unique within the rubric of contemporary Asian art.
