[ Subject to Droit de Suite, Artist's Re-sale Rights ] Alice Hanratty (b.1939) CROW STREET THEATRE, TEMPLE BAR and DONNYBROOK FAIR, 2004 (A PAIR) each signed and dated lower left charcoal on paper 102 by 102cm., 40 by 40in. Provenance: Franks Bar and Restaurant, Grand Canal Quay, Dublin The second work measures 60 by 70 inches. Established by Spranger Barry and Henry Woodward, the Crow Street Theatre was one of Dublin's most popular theatres during the Georgian period. The theatre was occasionally used for indoor horse racing, with the final stages of the race taking place on stage, as depicted here. With thanks to the artist for her help in cataloguing this lot.
