The raisonné author mentioned in the presented painting a former signature: "At the time signed and dated on the table plate:'Stoskopff 16.4'- due to heavy cleaning the signature can no longer be seen." Further, with reference to the figure of the breakfast image: "In the image the Dutch 'ontbijtje', is represented, which occurs between meal times in the afternoon. Fish and seafood are eaten during the fasting periods; they are considered "light meals", highly recommended for health purposes and a moderate lifestyle.
