Margaret Stones (born 1920) one of Australia's most celebrated botanical artists, was for nearly twenty-five years the principal illustrator for Curtis's Botanical Magazine, and in 1986 received the Veitch Gold Medal for "outstanding contribution to botany and plant conservation" from the Royal Horticultural Society.
