STODDARD, SENECA RAY, PHOTOGRAPHER. ALBUM OF PHOTOGRAPHS OF NORTH AMERICA. [C.1880] Folio (347 x 252mm.), calligraphic title explaining provenance, 55 albumen prints (each approx. 110 x 187mm., or the reverse), mounted on thick card, mostly two to a side, recto and verso, nearly all with printed captions and/or signature in the negative, contemporary black crushed morocco with decorative silver mounts to corners of the upper cover, flat spine, gilt edges, one photograph torn and missing half of image, dampstaining to lower portion of album affecting 9 photographs, some fading and light spotting, contents loose within binding, a few mounts splitting, spine torn, lock and one silver corner piece detached, lacking another; sold not subject to return

The photographs depict scenes in the Adirondacks, New York state, including many views on and around Lake George. Six of the photographs, showing views in Manhattan (4), Brooklyn Bridge and a landscape may be by another photographer.
