Claude Decombe, active 19th Century Still life with a lemon, a pear, a peach, a pine cone and an apple in a pewter bowl on a ledge, a pomegranate and a half-peeled orange to the left pencil, bodycolour 12½ x 16 5/8 in. (316 x 423 mm.)

Artist or Maker

Notes

Decombe was the pupil of the celebrated still-life artist Antoine Berjon. A fabric designer as well as an artist, he exhibited in Lyon in 1822 and 1823 and in Paris between 1824-28.
