Condition Report

The painting was examined within the frame. It appears to be in good condition both structurally and aesthetically with no evidence of previous restoration either using long range UV light or with the naked eye. The medium is oil (est) on fabric. Both are in good condition and the stretcher is period and quite likely original.
Though in good condition the design layer has minor issues that are worth noting. It is executed in areas of flat colored overlapping a silver grey background. Some of the color areas have aged selectively resulting in uneven gloss and traction crackle. This is particularly apparent in the ocher, orange, and Indian red areas and the white areas have minor age crackle. Additionally there are tiny areas of paint loss. A pinpoint loss at c. 2.5"H x 1"W, a tiny abrasion at 15.5"H x 5.5"W (from lower left) and a pinpoint loss in the upper right corner. At the present time none of these problems are serious and the painting is structurally sound.
