Overall the condition of the bronze is very good with minor dirt and wear to the surface consistent with age. There is some rubbing to the patina in areas, in particular to the proper right hand and the tail. There are a few small nicks, including to the proper right upper arm. There is some minor greening in areas, including to the proper right foot, and there is some dryness to the patina in areas, in particular on the proper left side of the horse's body. The bronze is cast in sections, and there are a few slightly visible original casting joints and plugs, including to the horse's proper left front leg. The bronze will benefit from a light cleaning and waxing. The spear detaches and is slightly bent at the tip of the spearhead.
