inscribed 'Portrait by Catterson Smith. Richard French 52nd Light Infantry (Subsequently became commander of this regiment) His niece, Selina Harriet French married Major General De Moleyns, Great-Grandfather of John Dixon Wilkinson.' (on the reverse)
