Sonya has been an invited artist to the Prix de West Invitational Exhibition & Sale for seventeen years and the Masters of the American West Exhibition & Sale for ten years. In 2010, she was the inaugural recipient of the "Smelser-Vallion Visiting Artist for the Doel Reed Center for the Arts" award from Oklahoma State University. Her paintings are in the permanent collections of: the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum; the Gilcrease Museum; the Forbes Collection; the National Cowgirl Museum and Hall of Fame; the State of Oklahoma - Capitol Building; and the Pawnee Historical Museum.
