iv, [2], 312 pp. 8vo (185 x 100 mm). Modern quarter calf. Occasional spotting, title repaired with slight loss to imprimatur on verso and 2 characters on recto, final leaf strengthened at fore-edge and gutter.

FIRST EDITION. The only copy other copy we trace at auction is that of Siebert. The author was the son of a representative for South Carolina. In addition to the present work, which also provides a natural history of Florida and a vocabulary of the Seminole language, Smith was also responsible for several volumes of poetry.
