Description

This originally hand-colored lithograph is from Carl Johan Alfred Skogman's Fregatten Eugenies resa omkring jorden aren 1851-1853 under befal af C.A. Virgin. The work was published in Stockholm by Adolf Bonnier between 1854 and 1855. The work featured illustrations of Tahiti, Hawaii, Manila, and San Francisco. It is "the official account of the first Swedish circumnavigation, profusely illustrated, and the least uncommon of all the books dealing with this expedition..." (Hill 1578)
