Lot 172: Signed Nicholas V. Haritonoff (LR) pastel on paper

titled, "The Couple" in custom frame. Haritonoff was born in Russia and immigrated to America in 1920. He was born in 1880 and passed away in 1944. Hartinoff studied at the Imperial Academy of Fine Arts in St. Petersburg and became one of Russia's most renowned artists. He painted a portrait of the Czar and also one of the Czar's wife and child which hung in the Czar's palace in St. Petersburg. His works can be seen in the Russian Art Museum and the Academy of Fine Arts in St. Petersburg and the Lauren Rogers Museum in Mississippi. Site: 17"H x 23"W; Frame: 25"H x 31"W. Circa - early 20th C.
