Mostly 19th-century boards (vols. 6, 8 and 19 in contemporary boards, vol. 21 in contemporary half calf, some wear to edges). Provenance : Massachusetts Horticultural Society, Stickney Fund (bookplate dated 1880; stamps). FIRST EDITION of this comprehenive German pomologie, divided into three sections: the first is devoted to a description of the German pomes and stone fruit, the second is on maintaining an orchard, and includes descriptions of famous orchards in Germany, the third section features the fruit and tree trade in Germany.
