Beginning in the late 50s, Rosen scouted out his home town of Los Angeles to make photographs. A well-respected documentarian, his work culminated in a book, published in 1979: In Celebration of Ourselves. Rosen was the founder of SPACES, an organization dedicated to the preservation of visionary folk art environments.
