SEVEN VARIOUS THAI-MARKET BENCHARONG VESSELS WITH BLOSSOMS AND
THEPANOM FIGURES

19th century

Comprising five graduated deep bowl-form jars and covers,
toh, each painted in polychrome enamels with
Thepanom figures alternating with floral medallions against a colored ground of either iron red, green, or yellow, with a twisting stem
lai kan kod pattern, the domed covers similarly painted below a disc knop; a small bowl, similarly painted; and a small saucer dish similarly painted to the interior and with a plain exterior. (7)


deep jars and covers: 8 5/8in (21.9cm) to 4 7/8in (12.4cm) high overall
small bowl: 4 1/4in (10.8cm) diam
saucer dish: 4 1/2in (11.4cm) diam

Five deep bowls and covers: Four deep bowls and covers with cracks. Two bowls with metal-edged rims. Various other chips, kiln adhesions and surface wear to extremities but mostly unobtrusive.


Small bowl: cracks to rim extending to the sides.


Saucer dish: Some minor kiln blemishes and surface wear.
