About the Artist: Scott Addis (Montreal, Quebec, 1963- ) was born and raised in a small southwestern town of rural Pennsylvania, where Scott Addis grew to love nature from a very young age. His first art teacher was his father, who would bring him hunting and fishing, and also spent hours sketching and drawing with him, both in nature, and from pictures taken around their mountain home. As Addis grew older, the small town grew constrictive, and Scott ventured out on his own. Addis enlistment in the Navy, which exposed him to different countries and landscapes, after which he settled in Cincinnati. There he took some classes in drawing and composition, and taught himself to paint. He also made his professional debut in one of the oldest, most established galleries in the region named Closson’s. Since then Addis’ career has flourished, with his exceptional art work represented throughout the US and Canada. Addis now resides in Montreal with his wife Lucie and newborn son Eric. These feelings come on strong, are hard even to experience and only a glimpse of them can be translated onto the canvas. The design of a painting is cartooned, borrowed from nature or worked from the figure, in order to allow the public to see something of them in the work. Hopefully most everyone has seen a lazy summer day, full of heat when nothing can be done. We’ve seen glimpses of sunsets with the promise of another day, rain clouds that remind us of troubles, mornings full of light and promise. The more specific the subject matter, the smaller the window of common experience that is shared. The tension between the message and the window is truly difficult to achieve – too much of one or the other is disastrous to the painting, but working within these parameters gives the work meaning and reward.”

Should Purchaser choose to use a third-party shipper, Purchaser agrees that packing and shipping is done solely at the purchaser's risk and that the Purchaser will pay for all packing expenses, materials, carrier fees and insurance charges. Terms & Conditions: The bidder agrees to abide by all terms of the sale of any lot or item. Although a bidder is not entitled to a refund of any item purchased in an auction, should Worthington allow the return of any lot or item, no refunds will be made unless and until the purchased lot or item is received by Worthington. Furthermore, any costs or expenses in any way associated with the repacking, handling, mailing, shipment and return of the lot or item is the full responsibility of the Buyer. Should Worthington receive the item in any lesser condition that it was sold (which determination is at the sole and unilateral judgement and discretion of Worthington), Worthington may withhold the refund of the lot or item until such time the lot or item is repaired. Any and all such repairs shall be the responsibility of the Buyer. Should any dispute arise regarding a lot or item purchased by a Bidder or Buyer, such disputes must be resolved in the Circuit Court of Sumner County Tennessee, and the choice of law will be under the laws of the State of Tennessee.
Taxes: Purchases may be subject to 9.25% Tennessee sales tax unless the Tennessee Department of Revenue Blanket Certificate of Resale form is completed and provided, along with a copy of the resale certificate from your state and received prior to time of purchase. International buyers are responsible for tariffs, taxes, or assessments of shipped items to the buyer's country.
