Description

Samuel Frederick Brocas (c.1792-1847) VIEW OF THE POST OFFICE AND NELSONS PILLAR, SACKVILLE STREET, DUBLIN hand coloured etching and line engraving 24 by 40cm., 9.5 by 15.7in. Engraved by Henry Brocas Jnr and published by J. Le Petit, Dublin, [1820], as part of a projected work Topography of Ireland. Also with this lot is Charlemont House, Dublin, drawn and engraved by James Malton (c.1766-1803), hand coloured etching with aquatint, published in London by the artist in conjunction with George Cowan of Grafton Street, Dublin, in June 1793, 12.25 by 17 inches (see Elmes and Hewson, catalogue no. 2064).
