inscribed Cartaino Scarpitta 1915 NY and with the names of the sitters Daphne, Foresta, Kaspar, stamped Roman Bronze Works N-Y-

bronze, greenish brown patina

Condition Note: The work is in good condition, it is dirty and dusty in some areas. There is a small spot of rust on Daphne's bow (the far right figure). There are a few stray paint drops on the work (very small).

CATALOGUE NOTE

Born in Italy, Scarpitta studied at the Royal Italian Academy in Rome and immigrated to the United States in 1910. He lived and worked in both New York and Los Angeles where he was highly regarded for his numerous public and private commissions.
