Ruth Jane Pilkington (1924-), "Winding Road, South Africa", signed and dated 1975, titled on exhibition label - 'Royal Institute of Oil Painters' verso, oil on canvas, 44.5 x 54.5cm.; 17.5 x 21.5in. * Studied at Johannesburg Technical College in South Africa, 1947-8, then at Macclesfield College of Further Education, 1962-5. Pilkington was made a member of ROI in 1976 and of SWA in 1985. She showed with MAFA; RBA; UA; Paris Salon and with groups in Jersey, Channel Islands.
