Sydney-based artist-architect Richard Goodwin is represented in many public collections including the Art Gallery of New South Wales and the National Gallery of Victoria and is perhaps best known for large-scale public art projects. This year he received Blacket Award for architecture as well as the major Helen Lempriere National Sculpture Award 2004. He has exhibited widely overseas and currently holds the position of Professor at the College of Fine Arts, University of New South Wales. The present murals are from Goodwin's 'Room Series', further examples of which are installed in the Sofitel Hotel, Melbourne.
