Frame rubbing. Wax-lined. Scattered craquelure throughout, including rather extensive uplifting of the paint at the lower right corner. Surface dirt. Surface has been thinned from a previous cleaning; underdrawing shows through (though some to most of it appears intentional). Very large repaired tear with corresponding inpainting visible on the right half of the work in the shape of a backwards E.
