Oil on canvas, 32 x 39 1/2 in. (81.3 x 100.5 cm), in a period frame.
Condition: Lined, old retouch, craquelure, surface grime.

Condition Report

With a partial French label on the stretcher that reads: "Rue Blanche, 76-PARIS/Exposition de: 1508 [the number being stamped]/ No. 03/ M. Roy Brown [the artist's name being handwritten in ink]. " This label is probably from the French shipping company, Guinchard et Fournirez, which was listed at that address in Paris on similar labels found on paintings of this period.

Partial label from ...J. Budworth & Son, packers and shippers, New York City, also on the stretcher.

Old retouch/repair to cover areas of craquelure in the sky. These areas do not fluoresce under UV light, but show color variation from the surrounding paint. Scuffing or soiling to u.r. quadrant near the frame edge. Small abrasion with paint loss at center top, 1-1/4 in. high.
