Rosaleen Davey (b.1947) LUMEN signed and dated [1999] lower left; typed exhibition label on reverse oil on board 91 by 91cm., 36 by 36in. Born in Belfast, Davey studied at the Ulster College of Art ( 1965-1969) under Colin Harrison, and later at Leeds University (1971- 1975). She has had solo exhibitions at the Caldwell Gallery, Dublin ( 1982), Talyor Galleries, Dublin (1989, '91, '93, '96), Fenderesky Gallery, Belfast (1992), Butler Gallery, Kilkenny (1996), and the Cavancor Gallery, Donegal (2001). She teaches painting at NCAD and is an elected member of Aosdana.
