Born in Belfast, Davey studied at the Ulster College of Art (1965-1969) under Colin Harrison, and later at Leeds University (1971-1975). She has had solo exhibitions at the Caldwell Gallery, Dublin (1982), Talyor Galleries, Dublin (1989, '91, '93, '96), Fenderesky Gallery, Belfast (1992), Butler Gallery, Kilkenny (1996), and the Cavancor Gallery, Donegal (2001). She is an elected member of Aosdána.
