NOTE

Rory McEwen was the brother of Christian, Lady Hesketh. Educated at Eton and Cambridge, he was a full time musician before becoming an artist at the beginning of the 1950s. A trip to India inspired an interest in botanical illustrations and he subsequently developed the elegant yet detailed handling evident in the present work.
