Notes

one of the most attractive french illustrated works on medical plants. Joseph Roques, born in Valance, studied at the University of Montpellier and later moved to Paris were he soon acquired the reputation of an eminent botanist. Hocquart drew and engraved the fine plates which were then colour-printed and finished by hand. According to Brunet the work was issued in 36 parts from 1821-25.
