London: H. Rhodes, 1684. 12°, engraved frontispiece showing six sporting scenes, final advertisement leaf, contemporary calf (spine restored, covers worn at lower edges, slightly bowed). Provenance: Edward Rooper (early signature on front free endpaper).

FIRST EDITION. "Of Tennis" includes "The Tennis-Court", a seven stanza poem concluding: "Thus in the Tennis-Court, Love is A Pleasure mixt with Pain". Schwerdt I, p. 225: "a scarce and comprehensive booklet on a great variety of British sports"; Westwood & Satchell p. 110; Wing H3194.
