Richard Klein, the Munich painter, printmaker and medallion-designer received a broad-ranging education at the Munich Applied Arts School, the Stucco and Sculpture School and at Johann Seidler's sculpture workshop before immatriculating at the Munich Art Academy to study with Angelo Jank and Franz von Stuck. In 1919 Richard Klein became a member of the Munich Secession. In 1928 he received an appointment to teach at the State School of Applied Art. Klein is known primarily for his portraits and nude studies but was also a distinguished designer of medallions. [NB] Edges minimally rubbed. Stretcher softly pushing through on the upper margin.
