Description

(1784-1865), profile to the right shell relief (hairline cracks), pinchbeck brooch-clasp mount with engraved border oval, 57mm. (2 1/4in.) high Footnote: Lord Palmerston was Prime Minister from 1855-1858 and 1859-1865. A controversial figure, he introduced the first "Government of India" bill in February of 1858. A wax by Richard Cockle Lucas of the same profile is in a private collection.
