* Richard Buckminster Fuller (American 1895-1983), SKETCH FOR A LARGE DOMED BUILDING INSCRIBED '1 KILOMETER OVERALL DIAMETER' Signed and dated 1970, felt pen, on 'Institute of Contemporary Art' notepaper 20 x 17.5cm Richard Buckminster 'Bucky' Fuller was an American systems theorist, architect, engineer, author, designer, inventor and futurist. Fuller published more than thirty books, inventing and popularising terms such as 'Spaceship Earth', 'Ephemeralization', and 'Synergetic'. He also developed numerous inventions, mainly architectural designs, the best known of which is the geodesic dome. Carbon molecules known as fullerenes were later named by scientists for their resemblance to geodesic spheres. * Artist's Resale Right may apply to this lot.
