Condition Report

The board is sound. There are some minor frame abrasions along the edges, most particularly visible along the lower edge. There is some very minor craquelure visible to the surface in all four quadrants, most notably in the lower left corner, and to the figure's suit and hair. The surface is very slightly dirty and may benefit from a light clean. Otherwise in good overall condition. Ultraviolet light reveals a thick milky varnish which makes the reading slightly difficult to interpret, but no obvious signs of retouching. Held in an ornate plaster frame.
