Reveau Bassett (1897-1981), "Ducks in Flight" oil on canvas. Canvas: 24"H x 30"W; Frame: 34"H x 40"W. Signed lower right, "Reveau Bassett". Born and raised in Dallas, Bassett traveled with Frank Reaugh on numerous sketching trips and studied at the National Academy of Design under Charles Courtney Curran. Bassett painted in and around Dallas, West Texas and New Mexico, migratory birds were the focus of many of his paintings . His paintings are in numerous important collections, including a painting of similar subject matter in the permanent collection of the Dallas Museum of Art.
