Rev. Arthur B. Bateman (1883-1970) River Scene with Tugs and Shipping Inscribed verso, oil on canvas board, 25.5cm by 35cm Provenance: MacDowell Kent Books Ltd, 20 West Park, Harrogate, the certificate of authentication signed by Mr Rodney Kent Born in Nottingham, studied at the City's School of Art and Paris, later entering the Methodist ministry. He exhibited at the RA 1930-1949, the Royal Scottish Society, the Royal Institute and the Paris Salon. He worked as Art Critic for the Birmingham Post.
