Rockwell Gardiner, Stamford, Connecticut, 1982-- Bertram K. Little and Nina Fletcher Little (Sotheby's New York, 29 January 1994, lot 167; note on paper jelly label by Nina Fletcher Little: "By Christian Remick b. Eastham 1736 signed:Drawn by C. Remick 1772")

NOTE

Christian Remick was born in Eastham, Massachusetts in 1736. he advertised in the 1769 Massachusetts Gazette that he specialized in "sea pieces, perspective views, plans of harbors...." A master mariner Remick was a lieutenant in the Revolutionary War on the Brigantine Tyrassiade of the Massachusetts Navy.
