Description

inscribed Raymond Delamarre 2/10/Alexis Rodier Fondeur Paris parcel-gilt bronze. Together with a custom built base. 2 pieces. Executed circa 1935 Delamarre, a metalist as well as a sculptor, exhibited in all the major French expositions in the 1920's and 30's. He was awarded a gold metal at the Exposition des Art Décoratifs et Industriels Modernes in 1925. In the early 30's he was commissioned along with Louis Drivier, Albert Pommier and Pierre-Marie Poisson to design an allegorical bas relief 'Les Arts et les Monuments Regionaux' for the first-class dining room of the transatlantic liner Normandie.
