Lot 517: RARE CARVED AND PAINTED MERGANSER DECOY BY GEORGE R. HUEY OF FRIENDSHIP, MAINE

Circa 1910. Carved eyes, turned back head with painted body in black and white with a reddish/brown head. With leather crest. Base with carved signature "G. R. Huey" . Also a carved silhouette of a flying duck. One of Maine's premier decoy carvers in a unique turned head variant. An unusual find, found in a Maine home.
