Rare and important ROOKWOOD Iris glaze plaque painted by Sturgis Laurence, 1903, "A Bit of New England Coast," depicting a rocky coast and distant boats amidst crashing waves under a cloudy sky in glossy and vibrant blues and sandy tones. (Iris glaze plaques of any size or subject are extremely rare, this is as good as any we've seen). Pictured in "Rookwood Pottery Potpourri," p. 126. Uncrazed, framed. Plaque: 8 1/4" x 12 1/4"
