Stubbs", oil on canvas, 14-1/8 x 20-1/8 in.; 20th century gilt and painted wood and composition French style frame. Original stretcher and tacking edge, stretcher marks, crackle, flaking upper left, canvas slightly loose, retouch or consolidant in sky with approximately 15 percent of surface affected; frame with abrasions. Provenance : The Estate of the Late John R. Jones, Hickory, North Carolina.
