NOTWITHSTANDING THIS REPORT OR ANY DISCUSSION CONCERNING CONDITION OF A LOT, ALL LOTS ARE OFFERED AND SOLD "AS IS" IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE CONDITIONS OF BUSINESS PRINTED IN THE CATALOGUE.

EXHIBITED

Newark, University of Delaware, 1984

NOTE

On an old label affixed to the reverse is the following inscription: Motif from bridge looking west, site of old Penny Bridge (Nassau Ave) gray edge at left is Paragon Oil Co.
Newtown Creek, which divides the borough of Brooklyn from Queens, has been the site of numerous oil refineries and industrial complexes since the 19th century. It is likely that this work was painted prior to the construction of the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway. Moreover, it was probably painted before the completion of the Kosciusko bridge in 1939, now located to the west of the site of the old Penny Bridge which joined Meeker Avenue in Brooklyn and Laurel Hill Boulevard in Queens.
