Lot 45: R. Elliston Bluebill Drake Decoy

Robert Elliston (1849-1915) Bureau, IL, c. 1900. This decoy is from the rig of Charles E. Carson, member of the Senachwine Club in Putnam, Illinois, from 1910 to 1951. Carson was acting as Club President in 1937 the year Ellsworth J. Westcott became a member. When Carson died in 1951, Westcott became Club President and was presented with this decoy. This decoy displays superb scratch-comb paint by Catherine Elliston. Excellent original paint with professional touch-up to a few minute areas on top of the bill, head, and body.
