Lot 181: R. Buckminster Fuller (American, 1895-1983)

null90 Strut Tensegrity Geodesic Sphere, number 22 of 50. Comprised of 90 aluminum, non-continuous push-pull compression struts, the 24" sphere rests on its original black, underlit pedestal and six pins that interlock with the metal struts. Incorporated into the pedestal is a letter of authenticity stating the edition number and signed by Buckminster Fuller on Buckminster Fuller, Sadao & Zung Architects letterhead. Sphere is signed on one of the struts. Included with the lot is the book "Buckminster Fuller: Anthology for the New Millennium", edited by Thomas T.K. Zung.
